2021 I Love My Island 5k!

Starting at Luke’s Episcopal Church, where a chapel originally built in 1888 is still in use, enjoy a run through “old Florida”. The 5k starts here the route takes you up North Tropical Trail below beautiful Oak and Pine trees covered in Spanish moss. You’ll pass the oldest home in Brevard County, Florida (Sam’s House) and one of the original orange groves. The 5k ends around a historic cemetery where the members of Merritt Islands pioneer families are buried. At the end of the race, you’ll get a t-shirt saying “A Run Through Paradise”, refreshments, and a chance to win a drawing for a “Runner’s Basket” which includes a $100 gift certificate from the Running Zone. There will also be vendor booths, chapel and historic cemetery tours. This event is family friendly, so you can bring the kids.
